Welcome to the Penryn admissions process.
You may apply to Penryn at any time following the birth of your child. We accept children from age two into Grade 0000, the year they turn three, up to children turning 18 in their Grade 11 year.
Space in classes throughout the grades and in our boarding homes is limited, it is therefore advisable to complete and submit an application for your child as soon as possible.
All scholars applying to join Penryn benefit from our mainstream curriculum and it is therefore necessary to assess each application for admission. Successful enrolments are based on availability for the grade applied for and on the successful completion of an entrance assessment.
The enrolment process is as follows:
It is important to complete the application form thoroughly and to attach ALL other relevant supporting documents (in PDF format) in the electronic application form. You will be requested to have the following support documents available during the online application process:
- Copy of child’s birth certificate.
- Copy of latest school report.
- Copy of ID of parent responsible for school fee payment.
- Proof of administration fee payment.
- Copy of both sides of your medical aid card. (If not on medical aid a signed letter confirming this)
The administration fee is payable on submission of the application form, the payment portal is conveniently located on the far right hand side of the top navigation bar.
Print a hard copy of the completed application form and sign every page of the document:
Hand deliver document to Penryn, Boschrand farm, on the R40 between Nelspruit and White River.
When the admissions department receives your application, we will contact you to setup a date and time for your child to write our entrance assessment. This assessment may also be written on an advertised open day, appropriate to your child’s grade. Once the assessment has been marked you will be contacted with the outcome.
Parents/Guardians will be notified via email in an official letter regarding their child’s acceptance. This letter will serve as an invoice for the once-off, non-refundable entrance fee.
Payment of the entrance fee must be made by the due date specified in the acceptance letter to confirm/secure the scholar’s place for the next academic year or term (Please retain the proof of payment for record purposes). Defaulting on a due date will result in your child’s name being moved to a waiting list and might result in your child not being offered a placement for the required academic period.
Please note that the submission of an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance to Penryn and if the grade for the year of registration is full, the applicant will be added to the waiting list and the parents will be notified.
